Auto Parts 02:35
In my mind I am on a jet ski I can almost taste the water on my tongue Sun and wind on my skin As I speed across lake Michigan I see people on yachts smile and wave And I wave back But I'm not on a jet ski I'm in the aisle of an auto parts store Early in the morning Trying to fix my car So I can drive to my 9 to 5 on time No one wants to be where they are

Is it too late to start a punk band I get all these ads for credit cards in the mail I could one up and pay spend a thousand buck on an electric guitar And a real nice amplifier I have some friends that would probably be down We could practice real hard and play in basements all around town I would have more fun on the weekends I would get me out of the house and around friends Micheal asked me where do you think you'll be five years from now I said hey man I don't even know what I'm doing tomorrow He said doesn't that seem scary yea doesn't that freak you out I said no not really besides it's the only way I know how. Because when you are fickle as I am It makes it difficult to make plans But ill be damned if I'm not trying my darndest Lately i'll be thinking about leaving But i don't how or where or why Because part of me wants to hug everyone I know And part of me wants to leave all you fuckers in the dust Because when you are fickle as I am It makes it difficult to make plans But ill be damned if I'm not trying my darndest Is it too late to start a punk band I get all these ads for credit cards in the mail I could one up and pay spend a thousand buck on an electric guitar And a real nice amplifier

Well I asked your friends what you're doing now They said you're selling firewood on the side of the road They said your'e almost done with school And still living up north with you're boyfriend And that you don't talk to you're family at all anymore It's been a whole year but I wont call Because now aint the time to be kicking up the dirt Last time I checked you were a tornado of a mess And I needed you more than anything else You let me down more than anyone I know But I never let that slow me down Because we left it in the strangest of places But now aint the time to be kicking up the dirt Well there was that one night at your friends house Where I saw you two on the couch And I hid that I felt crushed And I said that I was tired And I walked home in the cold alone And there was that other night on that other couch Underneath that blanket I felt like an asshole and I still do now Well it's be eight years of terrible timing and backing out But now aint the time to be kicking up the dirt Yeah maybe it will unfold Later down the road But now aint the time to be kicking up the dirt

All these songs are starting to feel like I'm hurrying through a conversation because someone that I haven't seen in forever just walked through the door When my brother used to stutter My mom would always tell him to slow down Well those two words always stuck with me and I'm always finding different meanings for em now. If I could have a whole thought If I could tell a story without fucking up If I didn't mumble when I talked I think I'd have a better shot at whatever it is I'm supposed to be shooting for When I was 10 or 11 Before I knew about porn on the internet My mom found printed lyrics of the song what your fantasy by Ludacris She sat me down But didn't know what to say besides the fact that she had thrown the lyrics away

I'm out on the town Remembering how you would wannna never go out I'm drinking for two One for me and one for not you I'm talking to some pretty cool people that I never would of talked to If I was standing next to you trying to make sure you were happy you were there I'm drunk I'm shaking my ass and I'm not thinking about you at all I'm drunk I'm shaking my ass and I'm not thinking about you at all I'm dancing around It's so much better knowing you're not in the corner I can stay out real late Don't need to get you home at a certain hour Well yeah I miss you But hey I kind of missed this too I'm drunk I'm shaking my ass and I'm not thinking about you at all I'm drunk I'm shaking my ass and I'm not thinking about you at all Soon the music will stop and you'll sober up And you''ll return to the room which you know loathe You will be alone when the sadness rushes in But this is normal and this is expected and this is encouraged But tonight you are free So drink, and if you don't drink then dance And if you dance than just be happy And if you hate bing happy than be sad And then since you love being sad then you will be happy I'm drunk I'm shaking my ass and I'm not thinking about you at all I'm drunk I'm shaking my ass and I'm not thinking about you at all I'm drunk I'm shaking my ass and I'm not thinking about you at all I'm drunk I'm shaking my ass and I'm not thinking about you at all

Biting down on my skin the cold cuts through the cloth You said you would meet me half way We don't have cars we are walking Climbing the largest hill in the neighborhood I know your on the other side We timed right and we met at the top and descended downt the side facing your house We sneak into your basement I meet your dogs You want to hear me You let me talk You show me your art You kind of scare me You show me music You show me movies

I haven't been taking care of my body lately Like a rusting car sitting on the lawn So I took that bike from the garage and I patched up the tires And I rode around like a dog that was lost And I the wind and I decided we didn't know what we were doing And that's right when the chain broke off I struggled with it for a bit I got oil on my hands And walked it home And I close my door I got ideas with singed wings And they'll cave in like a child's head in a classroom So I went to the park Yeah I went for a walk It was the first warm day of the year But it was too hot There were too many bugs And I got sweaty and sunburn and short of breath And I mostly played on my phone Man that park was pretty But I've seen prettier things on TV So I went home and I closed my door I got ideas with singed wings And they'll cave in like a child's head in a classroom I feel like my crazy next door neighbor Who lives off his disability checks And spends ays walking back and forth from his garage door to his mailbox I got ideas with singed wings And they'll cave in like a child's head in a classroom
